Jack Thompson The Foot

Yes ladies and gentlemen…the chicken has started that little flight back to roost in the case of ole’ John Bruce Thompson, a.k.a. “Jack” Thompson, the Florida lawyer who has been hounding, threatening, and insulting gamers and game makers (mostly Take Two and Rock Star) for the past few years. The DRM Debate

7:24 pm January 9th, 2008

Ok, I’m having issues with all of my game systems (among other electronic devices) all because of the damned DRM (Digital Rights Management) that they are using in regards to gamesaves, music, and downloadable content.  More »

Game time…ASSASSINATED!

6:42 pm January 2nd, 2008

So, everybody have a good Christmas?  Mine went quite well with time spent with family as well as with a great collection of games for me to enjoy.  (I had to wait a day past…but damn was it worth it.) Between the Christmas holiday as well of my 28th Birthday (oh I am starting to feel old :( ) I managed to walk away with a nice stack of games as well as 2 new accessories that I have been searching for for quite awhile.  Here’s the haul that I got: More »

Sony Shows New PS3…That Plays 1000’s of Less Games

7:08 pm October 8th, 2007

Well, Sony is at it again with yet another (this makes the FIFTH version of the system since it’s launch with items taken away instead of added) version of the Playstation 3 this year.  The new model will be released in November for $399 (more inline with a price I can afford) but it comes at a HIGH cost other than money…the complete and total loss of backwards compatibility.  More »

Hacked..BUT I’M BACK!

8:17 pm October 3rd, 2007

Well, for those three (maybe four) of you out there that may have noticed that this lovely little gamer geek site was down for most of the week because of a hack done against Hostrocket.com’s shared server that I happened to be a part of.  Luckily with my slow ability to update the site and my one day of thought to back up the site (almost 2 months ago…I really need to do more work on here), I’ve mananged to restore the site up to that point.  So while some things are missing from the forums, we are for the most part intact.  With this change, I will be going back and trying to update more parts of the site while I take it apart for the repairs.  No point in not doing this while I will have the hood open for work.  So please email me at Zen@ZensPath.com if you have any ideas for content, or suggestions for additions to the site.  I will be happy to get them and try to implement any I can.  Also, I would like to offer, once again, an open invitation for people to supply content for the site.  Write reviews, previews, or just talk about subjects to the gaming and geek world.  Hope to hear back soon!

Labor Day Price Drop for 4 XBLA Games, and New Titles Wednesday!

3:26 pm August 31st, 2007

Well, hope everybody is looking forward to the Labor Day weekend!  To celebrate, Microsoft will be dropping the price of a handful of Xbox Live Arcade games starting Sunday, Sep. 2nd to Monday, Sep. 3rd. The following games will have the cost cut in half for this time:

Zuma (400 Points from 800 Points)
Small Arms (400 Points from 800 Points)
Dig Dug (200 Points from 400 Points)
Gauntlet (200 Points from 400 Points)

On another note, next Wednesday will see the XBLA releases of a couple old-school GOOD arcade games, Cyberball 2072 and Fatal Fury Special!  Both of these games will be sold for 400 points on the Marketplace starting Wednesday, Sep. 5th.  So I will be grabbing Small Arms and MAYBE Dig Dug this weekend, and for sure getting Fatal Fury 2 on Wed. Cyberball 2072 was originally released in 1989 as a robot football game with 100 characters to choose from, and a football that is constantly ready to explode. Hope to see some of you online this weekend for some games!

N-Somniac Bioshock - Limited Edition Preview

9:23 pm August 27th, 2007

Ok, unless you’ve been dead deep under the ocean (just wait for the vita-chamber), you’ve probably heard, seen, or hopefully gotten a chance to play the new Xbox360/PC (Direct X 9 &10) game called “Bioshock”.  I will be posting my own thoughts and views of the game soon, but here we are with a treat..the first article/preview from the newest member to the Zenspath.com Staff - N-Somniac! (name withheld for our safety).
—————————————————————————————————————

It’s 9:45 am and I’m killing time in a retail shopping store waiting for the Gamestop next door to open. I’m standing in the electronics section staring at the only copy of Xbox 360’s Bioshock that just came out today and debating, should I get this now or wait 15 mins and chance getting the Limited Edition next door. As the time slowly creeped, I decided the latter and made my way next door. More »

Project Gotham Racing 4…on TWO wheels!

6:21 am July 10th, 2007

Yep, you read that headline correctly, the upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive “Project Gotham Racing 4″ will not only include an amazing weather system that changes how any race can turn out, but the addition of about 30 motorcycles to the game was announced today.  So far, Honda, Ducati, and MV Agusta have been anounced as some of the motorcycle manufacturers.  We should find out some more of them in the next few days of this new E3.

Wheelies, stopies, endos, drifts, and catch air are five Kudos that you can get on the bikes that cars can’t, but there should be plenty of ones that both will be able to receive.  So let’s wait and see what other surprises Bizzare Creations can bring us for this upcoming sequel to one of the best 360 launch titles out there.

Destroy All Humans! (Minus Bender)

6:13 am July 10th, 2007

Videogame publisher THQ has taken what I hope is the first step in a trend that could play well for consumers as well as for console makers with the announcements of their new Destroy All Humans! games coming for the PS3, Xbox360, Wii, and PSP in late ‘07 and early ‘08.  What they have done is actually take the franchise in two seperate directions in regards to what system they are going for to maximize the use of each systems strengths and to limit the weakneses by not trying to force one game to all of the platforms.  The PS3 and Xbox360 version is entitled “Destroy All Humans!: Path of the Furon” while the PSP and Wii versions will be “Destroy All Humans!: Big Willy Unleashed”.  From what I have seen so far, the Wii/PSP version actually takes place in the 1970’s just before the PS3/360 edition’s events occur.  So if you have the option of playing the Wii version (it is available for the PSP, but was developed with the Wii in mind for controls) as well as one of the others on the PS3/360, you will actually get the entire story, but both will be playable without the others if you had to make a single choice this generation.
