Virtual Madness with Mario Kart VR in Japan!

Nintendo has recently announced that Mario Kart will be getting a new VR experience in Japanese arcades and, I have to say, it is looking amazingly fun!

Called "Mario Kart Arcade GP VR", it will be another Namco developed arcade entry for the Mario Kart series. Sadly, this will only be available in the Bandai Namco VR Arcade in Shinjuku, Tokyo for now. But who knows, maybe this will come to other countries eventually as the original Mario Kart GP arcade machines did.

The game will be setup and played on the HTC Vive VR headset and will use two wrist straps to monitor your arms so you can throw items, hit racers with hammers, and more. The main seats and steering wheel will give the normal driving controls that the new motion controls will enhance for this unique experience.

I bet these arcades will cost a little bit more than $1 per play....

My hope is that eventually these games will find their way to PC somehow so anyone that has a HTC Vive could enjoy it. Sadly, this will probably end up being from emulation years down the line.  The game options could be great for their other titles too!
