Wow...Been Awhile...How Are Things?

Man, sorry it's been so long since I've posted anything.  Since my last post, I've changed to a new job, working on some construction projects for the house (including building a theater/media room), and just playing a LOT of new games.  I'm currently working on a Zenspath.com design for my cars in Forza 2, and will be happy to give this to anybody that decides they want to race while showing support for this little site for gaming.  Email me at Zen@ZensPath.com if you are interested in getting some free designs, if you have any good ideas for designs, or if you just want to help out in some way.  You can also reach me as "Zen of the Dark" on Xbox Live.  Now for some news -

Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles Confirmed

Yeah, I’m a bit behind on this set of news reports, but some things just take some work to get together. Nintendo and Capcom have finally made the announcements official that not only is Resident Evil 4 being remade for the Wii, but they also released news on Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles as well.

First let’s talk about “Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition” as it’s been officially titled.  This version is going to be the greatest version of RE4 ever made for a number of reasons.  Here’s a few –

Halo 3 Beta Starting May 16th

Microsoft and Bungie announced today that the Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta will officially start on May 16th at 1pm (GMT) and run until June 7th.  This Beta will include 3 new maps (Snowbound, High Ground and Valhalla), new vehicles (Mongoose, etc.), and new weapons (improved Assult Rifle, Brute Spiker, Spartan Laser and Spike Grenades).

The maps will represent the Medium to Large scale battlefields of Halo 3 and have only been demoed for the press, so nobody has any extra play time over anybody else in an attempt to level the playing field for those truly hardcore Halo 1 and 2 players.

In order to play you will require either to have won the first contest to gain access, a valid copy of Crackdown (sticker on the package tells you this and will be made available up until May 16th), or to have qualified for the "Rule of Three" promotion that Bungie ran a few months back. But, if you either didn't qualify for any of these or just don't have Xbox Live Gold (worth the 50 a year in my opinion, but that's for a different post), you can catch a special video from Bungie at www.Bungie.net, or download a 720p version on your Xbox360 if you at least have a Silver account.

I already have my access to the game and can't wait to use it on May 16th when the demo is released.  See you there!

PSP Price Drop

Today Sony officially announced that the PSP Core Pack will drop from $199.99 down to $169.99.  This drop of $30 dollars includes the system, A/C adapter, and battery.  No memory sticks, movies, or games are included.  There have been no announcements in regards to the premium pack which still sells for $249.99.

Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time on Wii VC

Nintendo released the "Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time" for the Wii's Virtual Console today for 1000 points ($10).  This game is listed as being one of the, if not THE, best game ever made by many people in the gaming community in all fields.  If you have never played this game, or just want to replay such a wonderful game again, feel free to purchase this for you Wii, you won't be dissapointed.  The only thing I wonder about is if the rumble feature will work in the game using at least the Gamecube controller.  The reason for this was there was an item in the original that was shaped like the rumble pack for the Nintendo 64, and allowed you to find secrets based on it's rumbles as you ran around.  I will find out and post more about it when I can.

Log-In / Register and Page Fixes

If you haven't noticed, we have a link at the top of the page to either log in or register so you can comment on posts.  I apologize that this was overlooked this whole time, but it has finally been fixed.  You will also notice a few of the posts had to be recreated in order to locate and fix the problem that was occuring with the side bar being pushed to the bottom of the page.  So thank you for you patience and I will be updating more soon with some gaming news.

Playing Catch Up

Original Post - (10-24-06)

Ok, I’ve been slacking. I admit it. I’ve been so busy at work, with my family, and just enjoying the many games I play and love that I slipped on updating the site. Hopefully this will stop. At a MINIMUM, I am going to try and update the site at least once a week from here on out. Probably on Sun because I have the most time that day. But enough about me being a lazy gamer…on to the news so far.

Pre-Order Bad, Gamestop Worse

Well, as a lot of you are sitting back and enjoying all of the new content for the Blizzard released World of Warcraft Expansion – The Burning Crusade, I get to sit here and realize that Gamestop doesn’t know how to handle it’s customers in any form or fashion while I wait even longer for the game to be shipped to me. Yes I’m mad, so let me explain the situation.

New Genesis VC games, Wii Revision On The Way, And Sony Gimps Euro PS3

Sega announced recently that it will be bringing 4 new Virtual Console (VC) games to the Wii soon.  These are "Sword of Vermillion", "Vectorman", 'Beyond Oasis", and "Sonic Spinball".  Sega is really starting to share the love with Nintendo as stated here by SEGA vice president of marketing Scott Steinberg.
"The Wii Shop Channel is a great avenue for gamers who want instant access to classic SEGA Genesis titles. Legendary games such as Sword of Vermilion, Vectorman, Sonic Spinball, and Beyond Oasis are a perfect fit for this platform."

Fanboy-ism and Gabe Speaks!

Well, this has been a busy week in the world of gaming and especially for electronics in general.  We saw the announcement from CES in Las Vegas about the first projector I have ever wanted - and it's R2-D2!  I'll post more about it later, but get the scoop at IGN by following this link for images and more! - http://gear.ign.com/articles/754/754184p1.html.

Now that my Star Wars fandom is officially announced to the world, I want to move onto another type of fan-ism or what ever it would be called, and that is the label of "fanboy" that I have found myself being called lately by different people.
