Zenspath Podcast Episode 002 - NES Chat

Welcome to Episode 002 of the Zenspath Podcast!

This week I am joined again by Brent (N5omniac) and Keith, along with my good friend Patrick for the first time. We spend some time talking about the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), our memories about it as we were growing up, our favorite games, accessories, and more!  We even talk a little about the NES Classic that Nintendo is releasing on November 11th, 2016.

Zenspath Podcast Episode 001 - NX Chat

Welcome back to the rebirth of the Zenspath Podcast!  With the time it has been since we last did a show, and much of the group moving on from working on the site on a regular basis, we have decided to restart the show back at Episode 001 with a new video format and discussion style. While we may from time to time cover news stories, much of that is being covered with my work at the Nerd Edification Hour with Caleb and Rachel so now the Zenspath Podcast will try and focus on particular topics each week.

Jeremy was a Guest on Ep 139 of the Super Podcast Action Committee!

Well, this Saturday I was able to be a guest on the Gamepolitics.com Super Podcast Action Committee episode 139 right along with the always great Andrew Eisen.

We talk about Bill Paxton playing Jack Thompson, cover some of their polls, discuss hate on the internet (remember kids: Hate with LOVE!), the DLC issue with Mortal Kombat X, and more!

Come take a look and let us know what you think of the show. You can find Andrew on Twitter at @AndrewEisen and of course over on Gamepolitics!

Zenspath Podcast Ep. 23 - Inevitable Nintendo

Wow, it's been awhile hasn't it. Come join Jeremy and Josh as we talk about what has been happening in the gaming world since we took a hiatus along with our special guest, Caleb Erskine, from the Nerd Edification podcast.

We talk about the announcement of the all female cast for a Ghostbusters reboot, the wave of repeats in games since most backwards compatibility is gone, our question of the show (remember to tell us what you think!), and more.

Take a listen below!

Also, take a listen at the beginning and end to hear our new theme song as done by friend of the show Tony Manfredonia (Composer for Ackk Studio's "Two Brothers"). Tell us (and him!) what you think of it.

Zenspath Podcast Episode 021 - We Stumble Back From the Dead..Again

Welcome back everyone to the long overdue return of the Zenspath Podcast!  We had to take a hiatus for a bit from recording and the site itself because of personal issues that became the focus for a bit, but now that we are through most of them, we can return our wandering gaze back to the site and the listeners of the show.  That being said, here is what we have in store for you on this episode.

Episode Music: "The Last Giant" from the Dark Souls II Soundtrack

Jeremy and AJ talk about the issue surrounding "resolution-gate" with the Xbox One and PS4, our odd exchange of places with which version of Titanfall we each chose to play, our love/hate relationship with the new Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, this generations controllers, and more.

Interview with "Two Brothers" Developer Ackk Studios

Well, we were lucky enough to get some time with four of the developers from Ackk Studios to talk about their upcoming title, "Two Brothers".  We are joined by Andrew Allanson, Tony Manfredonia, Jose Alfaro, and Ian Bailey to get the latest on their upcoming title which releases in a few weeks for PC, Mac, and Linux and early 2014 for the Wii U, PS Vita, Playstation 4, and (hopefully) the Xbox 360.

You can find more about these developers at their website (www.ackkstudios.wordpress.com) and make sure to vote for them on Steam Greenlight (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=143503892).  They can be found on Twitter as @AckkStudios.

Make sure to follow us as well on Twitter (@Zenspath) and to leave a comment about the show of what you want to see next from the site!

(UPDATE: We are now officially on iTunes...find us by searching for "Zenspath" or following this link!)

Welcome back from the REALLY long break as we figured out that Windows 8 just doesn't like our original recording software so we ended up loosing the original Episode 20...but we are back with a replacement! Listen as we talk about the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One, we hear what Josh thinks of Phil Fish and Peter Molyneux, and we discuss if the Wii U can pick up with it's upcoming games or if it is dead in the water as is.  We also talk about the new ToysDay project we have started where either once or twice a week we will post a set of photographs about a particular toy/statue or set of either for you to enjoy!  Let us know what kinds of things you want to see!

Episode Music: "Ice Man Stage" from Mega Man.

Starting with this episode (and possibly going back to the older ones) we have moved our show hosting to Libsyn.com so we should be quickly moving towards iTunes, Zune, and more in regards to the show!

Zenspath Podcast Episode 018 - Virtual Finger!

Welcome back since we have been late as heck!

We have a great cast this show with myself, N5omniac, Jeremiah, AJ, and Josh for one catch up show where we get back into the swing of things as we push to keep the show going for any and all that are listening.

We talk about Konami both dropping a needed update for a recent game while going back and updating a 4 year old title.  Polytron throwing a fit for making a broken game and having to pay for it.  Nintendo has launched the giant Nintendo 3DSXL alongside the coin based New Super Mario Bros 2. Nintendo is still being coy about Wii U news while Josh both hates and waits for it.  Listen to the show to find out what else we end up rambling about in the world of gaming!

Zenspath Podcast Ep 018

Who Wants Some Panama City Street Pass Love! WE DO!

N5omniac and I have been talking lately about the lack of streetpass love we get from the people around here in Panama City.  We go to the comic book, videogame, book, toy, and other nerdy stores yet nothing.  We go to openings for movies like the Amazing Spider Man and the Dark Knight Rises...but still nothing.

We aim to change that.

We have plans and schemes that are always popping from our heads and I have decided to run with one of them to possibly solve this issue for those of us that love Nintendo's latest odd-ball handheld.  We want to get a streetpass group formed that can meet up from time to time and help us get these puzzles solved, hats discovered, friends found, and game challenges passed along.

I am working on setting up an event at a local comic shop here in Panama City called New Force Comics.  This would be my prefered venue for something like this because of the locations size, its pure nerdy flavor,...and it's just a few doors down from an awesome pizza place for food!

Finally, if we can pull this off, I will have some give aways going on as well to sweeten the deal.  I'm talking game and point card giveaways.  I will try and purchase some items from New Force as well so we can have comics and toys to give away.

Feel free to hit us up in the comment section below, email us at ZensPath.com@Gmail.com, find me on Xbox Live as "PsychoticZen", or on Playstation Network as "Zenspath".

Zenspath Podcast Episode 017 - Homesick Delirium

Welcome to another California episode of the show. Thankfully I am joined once again by N5omniac so we could cover some of the gaming and geek news that has been going on lately.

We talk about the upcoming Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, David Jaffe leaves "Eat Sleep Play", Xbox Live's Stephen "StepTo" Toulouse is leaving Microsoft, Sony skimps on Vita PSP UMD support for the US/Europe, Double-Fine pulls off another miracle, Ubisoft proves why DRM is bad, Resident Evil: Revelations was released, and much more.

We announced on the show our latest contest for the Podcast! Head over to Kickstarter to see where Double-Fine is right now on their amazing drive to raise money for a new adventure game that they are developing.  Once you check it out, post in the comments your closest guess as to what the final dollar value will be. The closest two people will each get a $20 card for their system of choice (Steam, Games for Windows, Xbox Live, Playstation Network, Wii Shop Channel, 3DS eShop, etc).  So let those guesses fly and see if you can win!

Zenspath Podcast Ep 016 - Traveling Can Suck

Welcome to the first Episode of 2012 and the beginning of Season3 for the Zenspath Podcast!

This is a short epsiode that I pulled together on the road in California to get the ball rolling for the year and because I was getting WAY behind.

The music for this episode is the "Arkham City Main Theme" by Nick Arundel from 2011's Batman: Arkham City.

I talk a little about Zen Pinball 3D being released for the Nintendo 3DS eShop, Sony having some issues with the Vita, Modnation Racers for Vita lets us down, and why SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) has to be stopped along with my feelings and ranting on the matter.

So enjoy this short solo episode with a promise that there will be more to come!

Zenspath Podcast Episode 016

Zenspath Podcast Ep 15 - The Mayans Called It

Welcome back to the Zenspath Pocast!

We took a break for a bit because just about everything you could think of happened to slow or outright stop us from recording...but we didn't give up!  Jeremy and Josh got together to talk about some Forza Motorsports 4, Skyrim, Sonic Generations (OMG it's actually GOOD), the death of the Lego Universe, and much more.  (Like Jeremy can't shoot a rabbit.)

We also talk about the decision to make the game giveaway for "Child of Eden" an ongoing event because while we GREATLY appreciate the 2 posts we got for the last show...we need to see some more!  Tell your friends, your family, your enemies, YOUR PETS! We need to get the word out to people about the show because we do this for YOU so we need to know what you want and like about the show.  So to sweeten the deal we are now including a copy of "Fruit Ninja Kinect" along with a sealed copy of "Child of Eden".  I know this contest is 360 focused, and I promise to change it up as time goes on, but you could win it for a friend, trade it in once you get it, use it as a coaster....it's up to you! (please be nicer than the coaster...)

So give the episode a quick download below or keep an eye out for it on iTunes and Zune Marketplace as we are working to get added to those locations for your ease of access.

Zenspath Podcast Episode 015

Zenspath Podcast Ep 14 - Technical Difficulties

Here we are with the new episode of the Zenspath Podcast a few weeks late after BOTH of the computers we use for the show died on us.  The laptop sadly is completely gone, but thankfully we did get the main PC up and running thus here is the show once more!

Now first off, you will hear about the new Bloody Roar game we talk about in the show...and yes we have already found out that like many other sites, we were the victim of a joke as the game is not really in development.

During the show we talk about how we feel about Gears of War 3 (SPOILER FREE!(mostly)), the new updates and reveals for Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Minecraft Pocket Edition delays and Josh's first time seeing Minecraft...where I promply fall directly into lava and die.

Also remember to sign up and comment on the show to be elegible to win a free copy of "Child of Eden" for the Xbox360 which can be played with either a controller or the Kinect and the contest is limited to the United States please (sorry guys!).

Zenspath Podcast Episode 014

Zenspath Podcast Episode 013 - EPIC Multi-Player Edition!

Welcome to the first 4-person episode of the Zenspath Podcast as well as the first one that also has a contest for a free XBLA copy of Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet!

In order to get the game, you need to listen to the podcast, register on the site, and finally leave us a comment about what you thought of the show and tell us what music we used on this episode. [EDITORS NOTE: Because of the difficulty some people are having with my choice, I will be giving more clues as time goes on. This is a SNES ACCLAIM game.] Once we get a correct answer that person will get the code directly from me either via email, or we can get together on Xbox Live and exchange it that way.  More games will be coming in the next few months as I can afford to do them, so please let people know so we can really get this little community going as well as what kinds of games or other give aways you would be interested in!

Now onto the show notes.  We started things off with a very touchy and heated discussion about the whole Gamestop issue regarding them removing a code for a free copy of Deus Ex that Square-Enix had put into the retail PC copies of the game WITHOUT permission or even just letting Gamestop know about it before hand effectivly getting Gamestop to promote a direct competitor on their own dime.  Not cool on Square-Enix, but the situation was handled poorly on Gamestops side as they played damage control when then opened and removed the codes from each game Square-Enix sold them.  Eventually, after we recorded, they did issue a complete recall of the games and they have since been pulled from shelves until something can be fixed.

Other topics we covered:

* ICO/Shadow of the Colossus Collection bonus content
* Steel Battalion Heavy Armor for Kinect
* Battlefield 3 multiplayer
* New PSP in Europe with no Wi-Fi
* Resident Evil Revilations (3DS)
* Silent Hill HD Collection coming to 360 & PS3
* EA limiting physical and digital copies of Star Wars: The Old Republic
* Developers moving away from dedicated gaming systems
* PS3 price drop
* PS Vita games & Social Features shown off
* Playstation Home getting relaunched as an MMO
* New Devil May Cry
* Nintendo TGS event news and system rumors
* New Wii in Europe with no Gamecube support
* Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword releasing November 20th
* Kirby Wii coming October 24th
* Borderlands 2
* Canadian protest Valve
* Tekken coming to the 3DS and PS3
* Virtua Fighter V coming to XBLA & PSN
* Penny-Arcade making "The Decide-O-Tron"
* Minecraft wants to get some Quake on with Bethesda

And finally we get into a debate about the classic Windows game "Minesweeper".  Neiko believes it to be a Strategy game, I (Jeremy) believe it is a Puzzle.  What do you think? Comment below and let us know what you think!

Behemoth Interview - A Night Of Theater While Crashing A Castle

Sadly this is one of my shorter interviews at Comic-Con this year...but I spent more time talking with these guys about their arcade machines than I think I did with anyone else.  Oh and I also got to see and play the upcoming Battleblock Theater...that's kind of important as well.

Almost the entire time I got to speak with Aaron Jungjohann (Lead Level Designer) about the upcoming game "BattleBlock Theater" and I have to say this game was a ton of fun to play and hillarious to watch.

The whole premise for the game is explained in the interview as best as it can make sense.  But I still find the idea of a cat run theater/prison that you are forced to perform in because your friend is possessed by a top hat.

Yes...I am serious. (Amazing isn't it!)

So sit back and give this interview a listen and please comment so we know what you think either in the article, @Zenspath on Twitter, or email us directly at Zenspath.com@Gmail.com.

 Dacoon! (?)

(PS...any chance you at the Behemoth will use the name my son gave Aaron for this creature?  He named it a Dacoon (Deer + Racoon). He would LOVE if he got to name something.)

Zenspath Podcast Episode 12: So...About Being On Time...

Wow, guess that whole "we are on time thing" is out the window again.  But after this we will be trying to go back to the every two week schedule.

Regardless, we have a great show hosted by myself, Jeremy Powers, and AJ who has been officially named our PC Editor as of late.  So we can look forward to a much deeper look into the world of PC gaming ranging from mods, free to plays, Steam, Origin, etc., etc.

This episode also stars off with our first "bump" for the show by none other than Art Balthazar the creator and artist for DC Comics "Tiny Titans" along with the interview Jeremy Jr and myself did Art at the 2011 SDCC that plays right after the main show.

The music for this show is "Toxic Cave" from "Sonic Spinball" on the Sega Genesis

Please feel free to leave us a comment on the site, email us, or you can find us on Twitter (@Zenspath).

Editor Note: I have NO CLUE where I pulled the $199 PS3 price from and I already know I was wrong.  Ironically the system dropped to $249 right after this was recorded.
